                                                                                         INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS    

                                     PSCH is an agency that is committed to enriching the lives, health and welfare of its clients.  The agency
                                                  is equally committed to enhancing the   skills of future professionals joining the ranks of those working
                                                  diligently in the fields of mental health and developmental disabilities.  PSCH offers opportunities for
                                                  graduate students in the fields of social work, psychology, human services, nursing, and other disciplines
                                                  to learn and to provide clinically sound and evidence-based treatment.
                                 
                                                  A key focus of the internship program is to provide students with opportunities to integrate the internships  
                                                  theories learned in classroom settings into their professional practice.  PSCH is devoted to helping facilitate the
                                                  professional educational development of the young men and women who will one day be future leaders in
                                                  the areas of  developmental disabilities and mental health treatment as well as social service delivery.

                                                  Student interns have the opportunity to work directly with clients and to develop their clinical skills while
                                                  fulfilling their educational obligations and  receiving the guidance of seasoned and talented clinicians.
 

                                     Some of the placements that students may fulfill their practicum requisites in are:

                                            Assertive Community Treatment ACT-
                                           
Treatment Teams committed to providing clients with the treatment that they need in the communities 
                                                           in which they reside and work.
 

                                            Permanent Housing Assertive Community Treatment PHACT Teams- 
                                            Treatment teams providing clients with individual and group treatment as well as housing related 
                                                           services in their  own communities.
 

                                            Clinical Review Teams-
                                             Multi-disciplinary teams providing crisis intervention, consultation, training and clinical supervisory
                                                           services to clients with co-occurring disorders and to less clinically trained case management staff.
 

                                            Congregate Care Residences-
                                            24 hour residential facilities serving clients with serious and persistent mental illnesses, co-occurring
                                                           disorders as well as developmental disabilities.

                                         
                                            Article 31 and Article 16 Clinics-
                                            Facilities devoted to providing psychotherapeutic treatment to individuals dealing with Axis I and 
                                                           Axis II illnesses.


                                            IPRT- 
                                            Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Treatment programs providing consumer- oriented, goal-focused
                                                           rehabilitation for individuals recovering from mental illness and need assistance living, working and 
                                                           socializing in the communities in which they live.

                                                  As well as the clinical supervision that student interns have access to at their individual placement sites, they
                                                  also participate in group supervision, in-service trainings, and grand rounds on a regular basis.  If you are
