FIST is a free in-home support and advocacy service to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in accessing financial and medical benefits.

A FIST Counselor provides resource information, referrals to other services, education and training, and support and guidance. The Counselor is an ongoing ally and advocate, helping to compile necessary documentation, complete forms and applications, and assist the individual with a disability and his or her family through the application process.

FIST assists individuals in obtaining any or all of the following:

• SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
• SSA (Other Social Security Benefits)
• Medicaid and Medicare
• Home Relief
• Other Benefits and Entitlements
